Some of us are in the fortunate position that they still want to (and can) sail despite their advanced age, or at least spend as much time aboard as possible. However, requirements change with age. Previous crucial demands become less important and are replaced by requests we might not have thought of before.
Thinking about it, we often wonder what would be useful for the coming years on our current ship, and most of the time it are drastic changes that hardly are easily realized. In fact, mostly the model and appearance of our yacht seems to become less important than her efficiency and ease of use. Therefor we’ve developed the ‘65-25-10 theory’.
About 65 percent of everything we do on an average day and what we daily use, must be utmost smooth, handy and easily accessible and usable. For things we do once a week/month… however, the 25 percent category, and also sporadic actions, the remaining 10%, we can open an (often inconvenient) hatch. A staircase is not a problem, as long as it is easy going. A refrigerator is not a problem as long as it opens on standing height. Hence you can draw up a long list with your own requirements!
Many frequent sailors (whether they sail a lot or just prefer to stay on board) feel the need for a good functioning and practical galley. And the same applies of course for the mooring of a ship, accessing and leaving, ventilating various spaces, the heating, etc, etc. How about a low profile, thus little windage? And yet, with all this, comfortably exploring the coasts of the Netherlands, England and France, whenever we want to. So stabilizers are -if desired- ready to be mounted. The Skippers Yacht has been developed with all above interests on the bucket list. This design comes in 1500, 1700, 1800 and 2100 versions.
Spacious aft deck, spacious wheelhouse with comfortable seating area, convenient galley, a lot of open space, possibility of 2, 3, 4 or even 5 cabins. In some versions, an extra office or hobby room. Inside the entrance to the engine room. Spod poles invisibly built-in. All these properties are possible on your Skippers Yacht.
In addition there is another motto that played an important part in the development of the Skippers Yacht: Keep it simple! As little as possible complexities aboard. One (1) generously sized engine, bow and stern thrusters, spod poles, anchor winch, etc… electric or electric/hydraulic...
So, if you like the philosophy and design of the Skippers Yacht, please contact us and we will be happy to inform you personally, in detail, and without any obligation, about all the possibilities, options and ... the attractive price!
